“To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” - (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

What have you purposed in your heart to accomplish in life? If someone were to ask you, “What is your purpose in life” – what would be your response? When was the last time you sat down and wrote down a one-, two- or five-year plan? If you are reading this blog right now, you have purpose. What are you good at? Do you know what gifts and talents you have? I believe we all have at least one (1) gift or talent.

The scripture tells us in Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as G-d hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (emphasis mine)

Sooooo, what does this scripture mean to you? Well, every person on earth has been given “the measure of faith”. The question now is, “what to do with the faith that G-d has given you.

Having purpose in your life is so important. It gives you a sense of belonging no matter how small. We are placed strategically in our communities, workplaces and places of worship for service.  It’s really not about ‘us’ but it should be about someone else. We need each other whether we want to admit it or not.

Allow me to encourage you to think about the following:

Purpose allows you to serve - Whether you are giving a drink of water to someone, helping someone by mentoring or sharing your knowledge – you are serving.

Purpose will help you keep your mind on your destiny - When you have a goal in mind, gather all your tools for the project and keep working until completion.

Purpose can help you stay Bold and Brave - Having purpose gives you a sense of belonging. Be bold and brave in accomplishing the tasks at hand.

Purpose allows you to take one day at a time - There are only 24 hours in a day. Eight hours of work, eight hours of rest and eight hours of recreation i.e., housework, exercise, etc. Each day that we are given the breath of life is another opportunity to work towards your purpose and goals.
